volker deriath is a munich based street and theater photograph who photographs (without exception) in munich for 25 years.
the following pictures are from his last exhibition. he took every picture at the "oktoberfest" in munich during the great beer rush hours.
i love this series because the pictures look idiotic, dramatic, grotesque and sometimes funny in a very cynical manner. for some reason, bob dylan songs come to my mind when i look at them. enjoy (click the pictures to enlarge!).

Here are a few Impressions from my Visit to the Exhibition "Proto Anime Cut"
in the City of Dortmund 1 Week ago.

The exhibition Proto Anime Cut presents original drawings of the most important directors and illustrators of Japanese animated films.

The action-packed hero stories and the visionary science fiction of Japanese Anime are set in impressive worlds that are constructed in painstaking detail. Looking at the creative processes, the filmmakers appear as architectural dreamers who operate with virtuosity at the borders of credibility, fiction and utopia. The exhibition focuses on the development of these arenas of action and narrative scenarios. Numerous background paintings, storyboards, drafts, sources of inspiration and film excerpts provide insight into the working methods of the most successful animation artists of the last two decades. Proto Anime Cut presents them for the first time in Europe.

The exhibition includes work by Hideaki Anno (director, Neon Genesis Evangelion), Haruhiko Higami (photographer), Koji Morimoto (director, Dimension Bomb), Hiromasa Ogura (art director), Mamoru Oshii (director, Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell) and Takashi Watabe (layout). The presented artists have played key roles in the development of Anime. By cooperating closely in different production studios in Tokyo they gave their distinctive signatures to many films and developed the prototypical Anime style.

lebbeus woods is a rarely known artist and architect. the main part of his work is focused on some kind of "anti-architecture" the attemp lies in the further development of existing structures in which the individual has the challenge to fit in the enviroment and build its own room inside these structures.
a revolutionary idea in my opinion.
if you see his works, it is needless to say that the
most of his creations only exist as sketches.

DIE NEUE ZEIT - CAMBODIA ASHES CASSETTE (SELF-RELEASED)
This one was a real surprise. Got this in the mail with a larger package, and was very pleased to find elegant and minimal Harsh Walls delivered with complete intention. Has the insane and destructive obsession typifying the HNW extreme. A-side is swirling walls of electronics and noise that maintain a monolithic and minimal stature. B-side has a more static and less bass-driven crunch, but has a nice contrast to side A, much more based in high end. Very mysterious.
